In the Admin UI, a change has been made so if an incorrect username, or password is entered a generic message of “Invalid User name or password. Please try again” is shown for both errors.
Improvements have been made in the software for user unlocks when there are a high level of requests.
Various small improvements have been made to the software as identified by our automated internal tracking system.
In Web Viewer and Portal login, now if an incorrect username or password is entered, a combined message of “Invalid User name or password. Please try again. (3yq/bw5).” is shown. User Activity logs will still show the individual reason.
The German language is now an available option for the Web Viewer, Portal and Login pages. The text on these windows, such as Password, Filter and Print, could now be shown in German (as well as the previous other 6 available languages).
The Limit screen capture options have been clarified so the old Advance level (the default) is now shown as Moderate level.
General Improvements to the back end the Web viewer.
For customers who use the flattening option, exported annotations used with this option now exported as expected.
A new API has been added which mirrors the Download Protected PDF in the Web viewer/Portal, but can be run via a customers own portal (Enterprise Only).
Limit screen capture now has 4 options (which have been slightly renamed). A new Level 3 has been added, which blurs the screen when the mouse leaves the browser not just when the mouse clicks outside (level 2). The default remains Level 2.
Protected PDFs now have improved information windows (customized for different software and Mac/Windows) for Global Object Security Policy. This will apply to any newly generated PDFs going forward.
Using diagonal user specific watermarks with protected PDFs has been clarified in the watermark placement tool tip (it is not recommended for PDFs).
An issue has been resolved where an incorrect message was shown in the portal when the user had no access to any content.
An issue has been resolved where an error was seen if Admin UI Decoder was asked to process an image with the extension as capitals (e.g. .JPG) rather than lower case.

User Specific watermarks now support some right to left languages in downloaded PDFs. Previously this was only supported in Web Viewer. Text Only watermark right to left language remains only supported in Web Viewer.
The Corporate License Module now supports and requires custom SMTP settings so emails can come from a chosen email address.
The layout of the Admin UI Settings Account page has been tidied.
Notification Webhooks are only supported for customers who subscribe to the Vitrium API options (e.g. Enterprise or Professional customers who requested specific APIs). Notification emails are available to all customers.

Vitrium now supports email notifications for various events. For example, you can receive an email when a user attempts a Print Screen action (ps1). Enterprise and API users can opt for Webhook notifications as an alternative to email.

For older accounts with the options enabled for Group DRM, if the Expiry is set to Never, it would show Not set. It now shows Never.
Loading speed improvement of the User Activity Report have been applied to avoid SQL Timeout errors when loading the report by a larger customer.
An issue where on upload of non PDF documents, some content failed processing with a -100 error. This has been resolved.
In Web Viewer, for larger documents, the continuous scroll and page-by-page scroll options were missing. This has been fixed.
DRM error messages from external service sometimes had question marks added. This has been fixed.
A video during processing when moved to the recycle bin continued to be processed. This is now not the case.
The Concurrent user DRM functionality now also applies to Videos and Audio (as well as Documents and images). The Timeout is 1 minute.
When downloading PDF’s for Printing, a smaller dialogue (Zip or PDF download) followed by an information window is now shown, rather than one page.

Video text only watermarks have been improved to closer match the same font as a user specific watermark.

It was possible to sometimes see the recycle bin folder in the end user portal if the end user had permission to view that content. This has been fixed.

If the Folder description contained more than 1000 characters, an error was seen. Now a message is displayed informing the staff user 1000 has been exceeded.
The Activities reports button in Failed unlock reports opened the User Activity Log showing the correct information, but indicated the wrong date range in the filter. This has been fixed.
Groups can now be sorted into groups and sub groups (defined using the Parent group option in a group).
Annotation sharing by DRM has been updated to be Sharing defined by a user in a group who is given permission to view other annotations in the group. (Enterprise and Professional plus customers only).
Arabic has been added as an available language.
Admin UI Content Tab now has a recycle bin option. Content will remain in the recycle bin for 30 days before deletion if no action is taken.
Watermark API calls now verify the rotation value defined in the call to ensure its an acceptable value (Enterprise customers Only).
If a (Vitrium) protected PDF is uploaded, now we reject it before processing. If the file was uploaded, in Web viewer you would only see the protected pages.
We have made a small change that should increase the speed analytics are processed.
An issue where carriage return in watermarks could cause issues when unlocking a PDF has been fixed. We now check for this and replace it on save with _newline_ in the Admin UI.

An issue has been resolved where IOS devices running IOS 17.4.1 could not play Audio or Video files using the IOS player. The Vitrium Player was unaffected (Note it is apple device and IOS dependent whether the IOS player of Vitrium player is shown).

PDF users who are required to reset their passwords now have the option in the pop up warning message to be taken directly to the Web viewer login page to do this.

When processing an audio file, and the web link is opened, a correct message is now displayed “Please wait” rather than an error warning.
An issue was noted where Web viewer and Portal settings would not upload banner and other images to customise these pages. This has been fixed.
Vitrium now supports Subscription dates for users or groups. This is separate to DRM policy, and allows individuals or groups to be allowed access for a set time. Option enabled in the Account setting.
When a user adds or changes passwords, there is now a show option available.
In DRM policy, the Allow Protected PDF Download option is now on the General settings tab not the Advance tab.
Several Tooltips in the DRM form have been improved.
When disabling annotations in DRM policy, a new warning message is displayed. This is to remind staff that disabling these options will make current annotations read only.
To avoid confusion for customers with Accessibility for Visually impaired enabled, a tick box for accessibility has been removed from the login page. To use Aria viewer in Web Viewer, select ALT-U or select the option from the menu.

Firefox on Android does not allow printing in Web viewer. We have disabled the printing option for Firefox Android.
Enterprise customers when creating multiple DRMs via API could on occasion create DRMs with the same name. Protection has been added to avoid this.
For enterprise customers, POST Doc endpoint will now accept a custom DocId. When not provided, the system will continue to generate unique GUIDs.
Minor portal search engine improvements.
In the Admin UI Settings, in the SSO OAuth window, an unused field "Response Type" has been removed.
In the Admin UI Reports, in the user activity log, only the initial Portal opening is noted (an open portal entry was being logged every 90 minutes).

If a group is listed in the User CSV import file and that group does not exist, the group will now be created in Vitrium, and user(s) added to it. Note leaving this column blank does not remove user(s) from group(s).
A new multi select for deleting users has been added. Select the top left tick box once to select all on the page, select it again to select all on all pages (as defined by any filtering). A (selected) count has also been added to the username column.
An improvement has been made to delete dialogues, where the highlighted button is Cancel, not Delete. If Enter is accidentally pressed, the default action will be to cancel.

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is now available for end users (for Web viewer and Portal access). This can be for first Log in, or every log in, and a verification code is sent to the end user via the Password recovery email.
For Enterprise users using tokens, It was found that scans could cause an unlock to be logged. A new option is available in the integration settings that on first open on a device displays a confirmation screen. Contact Customer support for more details.
If you have “Allow Source file Download” (this allows an end user to download a copy of the original file) you are now offered this option when hovering over the Portal icon download symbol.

When a document is updated, a user who previously viewed that file in Web Viewer is informed that the file is updated (if set in the file Content edit window). This is now working again. NOTE - There was no issue with Updating versions (Enterprise only).
On occasions, in Time Spent reports, a rounding issue showed the HH:MM:SS time as 00:01:60, 00:03:60 etc. instead of 00:02:00 and 00:04:00. This has been resolved.
When a user has a slow internet connection, for Protected PDF authentication, in the past, the user could re-enter their credential while the initial "ping" was still in progress. This no longer can occur.
Minor improvement to the Limit Screen Capture functionality on Mac OS.
2FA for staff users (delivered in 9.23.0), the verification code input form field is now changed from 6 separate input values to one field.
Analytical reports (the ones marked with "*") are now exposed and available for API use (Enterprise only). Swagger will reveal them under the Reports section.
Tooltip improvement - When adding a single user, we now recommend in the tooltip to use an email address.
Social DRM was affected by Limit Screen Print (including blur effect) setting. This has been resolved by excluding social DRM from all Limit Screen Print features.
We have fixed a token issue with stale sessions when staff users attempted to reset their passwords. Previously an error messages was displayed.
An issue has been resolved where sometimes in full screen the Content tab Folder Scrollbar did not display the bottom of the scrollbar properly.
An issue where Read Out Loud was not working in Adobe has been resolved.
There is a new Export called “Export Permissions” in the folders dropdown menu in the CONTENT tab . This exports information about files, such as when a User was linked to a file, what DRM is used, where and how it was applied, and much more information.
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is now available for Staff users in Security settings. If enabled (first or every login) a code is requested, and an email is sent to the Staff's Recovery Password email. PLEASE ensure Staff emails are correct before using.
Mac users can, under certain circumstances, add a | or a : into a file name for uploading to Vitrium (these characters are not allowed in Windows file names). Vitrium now accepts these characters in file names uploaded to the Admin UI.
Printing has been disabled for the optional Web Viewer Text to Speech option (Aria Viewer).
An issue has been resolved where documents, videos and audio using the Content Open Limit DRM option were inaccurately counting the times the file was opened, causing customers to be incorrectly locked out with a dovc3 error (enterprise only).
When a user exceeds the Open limit DRM setting with a file, the warning message is now correctly displayed (Enterprise only).
In View rate reports, Audio and Video played seconds column now correctly shows the last value. For example a 30 second video showed 0-29 previously. It now shows 0-30.
Vitrium now supports the file format XLSM - an Excel Spreadsheet with macros in all account types (Marcos and VBA are removed). Marcos and VBA would only be supported with the download source/original drm option (enterprise only).

PDF-Xchange have resolved an issue where if the Secured PDF content had “Disable Annotations” set in content settings, the PDF would not log in, in PDF-Xchange.
In Settings -> Portal Settings, the option Allow Protected PDF Downloads now correctly only displays the extra URL fields for Enterprise accounts only.
In the USERS tab, when a group is selected in the left hand column (to filter Users), the Last Activity date is now correctly displayed, rather than just showing None.
When importing users via CSV file, if there were error messages, the count of the errors was inaccurate. This has been resolved.

Adding “#page=10” (or any page number) to the end of a Document Web Viewer URL link will now open the link at the page requested (this feature allows book chapters to be linked to from other websites).
When content is protected by the content policy option to Prevent screen capture, if a user attempts to screen print, where possible, a record is stored in the User activity log called PrintScreen. The User is not informed this has been noted.

In the User Portal, long file names will wrap into a 2nd line if the content has no “tags” defined. Tags will always be displayed in the 2nd line. The mouse-over event will continue to display the full filename.
In the Web Viewer, when selecting Download to Print, the user has the choice of downloading the Protected PDF as a ZIP file or as a PDF. (Enterprise only)
In the Web Viewer, annotation "notes" (text represented by yellow thumbnails) will be included at the end of the printed content should a user opt to include annotations in the print job.
The Option “Prevent Screen Capture in Web viewer” in Content Policy settings has additional methods to deter screen capture, including making the screen go blurry and where possible replacing screen capture with Text.
In the Admin UI, we changed the field label "Thumbnail Scale in Web Viewer" to "Page preview scale in Web Viewer" and clarified its usage in the tooltip. 0.0 remains the recommended value.
When editing individual content records, the advanced settings of “Disable Web Viewer” can only be disabled which will then generate the previously missing Web Viewer URL. However, if that setting is currently disabled, it cannot be enabled.
The content Alias code at the end of a Web Viewer URL can now be used to search for the content record in the Content tab. Searching for values of “-video” or “-audio” will list all video and audio files.
External service time out values will now always default to a minimum of 30 seconds (Enterprise only).
Autoplay for both Video and Audio content has been disabled. This type of Web Viewer content will require users to click the play button when opening the URLs.

An issue has been resolved where documents, videos and audio using the Content Open Limit DRM option were inaccurately counting the times the file was opened, causing customers to be incorrectly locked out with a dovc3 error (enterprise only).
When a user exceeds the Open limit DRM setting with a file, the warning message is now correctly displayed (Enterprise only).
In View rate reports, Audio and Video played seconds column now correctly shows the last value. For example a 30 second video showed 0-29 previously. It now shows 0-30.
Social DRM was affected by Limit Screen Print (including blur effect) setting. This has been resolved by excluding social DRM from all Limit Screen Print features.
We have fixed a token issue with stale sessions when staff users attempted to reset their passwords. Previously an error messages was displayed.
An issue has been resolved where sometimes in full screen the Content tab Folder Scrollbar did not display the bottom of the scrollbar properly.
An issue where Read Out Loud was not working in Adobe has been resolved.
When a document is updated, a user who previously viewed that file in Web Viewer is informed that the file is updated (if set in the file Content edit window). This is now working again. NOTE - There was no issue with Updating versions (Enterprise only).
On occasions, in Time Spent reports, a rounding issue showed the HH:MM:SS time as 00:01:60, 00:03:60 etc. instead of 00:02:00 and 00:04:00. This has been resolved.
One specific document only (a PDF created via Microsoft print to PDF) displayed the watermarks incorrectly on a secure PDF (reversed and incorrect position). This has been resolved.
An intermittent issue has been resolved where individual page rotation in Web Viewer would stop working.

Improved analytics capture for video and audio content
When editing individual content records, the advanced settings of “Disable Web Viewer” can only be disabled which will then generate the previously missing Web Viewer URL. However, if that setting is currently disabled, it cannot be enabled.
The content Alias code at the end of a Web Viewer URL can now be used to search for the content record in the Content tab. Searching for values of “-video” or “-audio” will list all video and audio files.
External service time out values will now always default to a minimum of 30 seconds (Enterprise only).
Autoplay for both Video and Audio content has been disabled. This type of Web Viewer content will require users to click the play button when opening the URLs.
In the Admin UI, we improved the tooltip noting the recommended size for a Portal Thumbnail
In the User Portal, long file names will wrap into a 2nd line if the content has no “tags” defined. Tags will always be displayed in the 2nd line. The mouse-over event will continue to display the full filename.
In the Web Viewer, when selecting Download to Print, the user has the choice of downloading the Protected PDF as a ZIP file or as a PDF. (Enterprise only)
In the Web Viewer, annotation "notes" (text represented by yellow thumbnails) will be included at the end of the printed content should a user opt to include annotations in the print job.
The Option “Prevent Screen Capture in Web viewer” in Content Policy settings has additional methods to deter screen capture, including making the screen go blurry and where possible replacing screen capture with Text.
The Hot keys to enable Aria Viewer / Accessibility mode (SHIFT+TAB+ENTER) now function consistently across Windows and macOS Browsers. If already logged in to Web Viewer, use ALT+U to enable Aria Viewer.
The Login Page Tab order has been slightly adjusted for ease when using Accessibility Mode.
If using the option to show some unprotected pages on a PDF, there is an account setting available to allow the PDF log on page to be displayed after these pages, not on Page 1. Please contact Vitrium support for more information.
Aria Viewer in Web Viewer can now be disabled in Web Viewer using the ALT+U keys. Previously ALT+U only enabled Aria Viewer.

VIDEO PROTECTION: Vitrium now protects 6 different video formats: .MOV, .MP4, .WMV, .AVI, .FLV, .MKV (you need video enabled on your account in order to protect video content)
VIDEO ANALYTICS: video tracking data has been added to the User Activity Log and all other analytical reports except the two read-through-rate reports, plus two new reports have been added for video: ‘View Rate by Content’ and ‘View Rate by User’
Ability to UPLOAD MULTIPLE FILES of the same type of content at the same time – for example, you can upload multiple documents at the same time, or multiple images at the same time, or multiple video files at the same time but you can’t mix and match (documents with images, or images with video files)

The UPLOADING & PROCESSING of files has improved so that (1) you can see whether the file is in the upload or processing phase, (2) you can do other work in the Vitrium application while waiting for files to be processed, and (3) you can see whether a file failed to convert to the web viewer (for failed conversions, you should still submit a support ticket to Vitrium)
